Subtle shifts in alignment give the compact steel form a sense of tension and movement, inviting a closer look at how small changes can transform an otherwise structured composition. Part of Ian Houghton’s Compression Studies, the sculpture reflects his ongoing exploration of pressure, balance, and the expressive possibilities of steel. This contemporary abstract metal sculpture brings the strength of forged and fabricated steel into a refined modern form, allowing precision and unpredictability to exist side by side.
