description
The Space Between focuses as much on what is absent as what is physically present. Two substantial steel forms lean toward one another, creating a charged opening where balance, tension, and connection become part of the sculpture itself. Compressed and transformed surfaces reinforce the sense that an unseen force is acting between the elements, holding them in a moment of suspended movement. Created by Denver based metal sculptor Ian Houghton, this contemporary steel sculpture explores negative space, material transformation, and the quiet relationships that can exist between seemingly separate forms.
